Prefer indie bookstores?

Amazon’s business practices and ongoing dispute with Hachette Publishing have led some readers to take their book-buying bucks to independent bookstores.

A couple people have asked me about this, thinking it’s automatically bad news for me because they assume my books must only be available from Amazon.

Not true!

You can order both Not in Time and Identity paperbacks through the website of Powell’s, the big indie bookstore in Portland. (Not sure why they don’t have the cover of Not in Time uploaded…)

Fellow Texas residents can support a Texas business by ordering Not in Time and Identity paperbacks through the website of Murder by the Book in Houston.

Folks in my home state can support a Kansas business by ordering Not in Time and Identity paperbacks through the website of The Raven in Lawrence.

My friends back in the DC area — loyal fans of Politics and Prose — are wondering whether they can purchase Identity and Not in Time through the P&P website. And the answer is: Yes!

You should be able to order my paperbacks through the web portal of just about indie bookstore, and many can special order the books for you if you go in person.

Now, the only indie bookstore where you can waltz in and buy my books off the shelf is Ad Astra Books and Coffee in my hometown of Salina, Kansas. But we’re working on that!
